"The Boat Stitched Banquettes" are a captivating creation by Coterie, showcased at Offshore at Navy Pier, the world's largest rooftop bar and Chicago's famous lounge.
Drawing inspiration from luxurious vessels, this design captures the spirit of open waters with stunning views of Lake Michigan and the city's skyline.
Take a seat on our custom banquettes encased in walnut, featuring a drink rail, cutouts for decorative boating accents, and channel-back boat-inspired stitching, showcasing timeless craftsmanship. The Boat Stitched Banquettes span an impressive 17 feet from side to side, inviting guests around our custom walnut-topped cocktail tables with round powder-coated matte black steel bases.
We take pride in crafting extraordinary pieces for well-designed spaces at Coterie, an American-made custom commercial furniture manufacturer. During this project, we collaborated with the team at KOO Architecture. We brought their vision to life through collaborative meetings, shop drawings, sample approval, and the prototyping process. Additionally, our expertise in value engineering (VE) resulted in recommending materials that matched the designer's vision while ensuring durability and staying within budget.
Our collaborative approach with KOO, along with the procurement team at Beyer Brown, led to a world-class execution. Coterie collaborated throughout the fabrication stage and worked with various entities to nail delivery. Coterie provided detailed install instructions and even onsite supervision for an end result that met all requirements, and truly stunned at the soft opening. The Boatstiched Banquettes continue to stun as more people enjoy this jaw-dropping venue.
Coterie’s Unique Role:
This project was a truly special one for us as we had the privilege of collaborating with the esteemed Chicago hospitality designer Jackie Koo. The design process was highly collaborative, including detailed shop drawings, sample selection, and submittals, along with meetings both in our shop and remotely. Our expertise in millwork and metalwork allowed us to bring Jackie's vision to life, adding ample seating and standing space with a drink rail to lean into conversation or enjoy the incredible view. Coterie specializes in custom work like this that enables designers to shine and create trademark, career-building design pieces.
